Privacy & Data Practices

What Hearth collects

When you forward an email or send a text to Hearth, we process the content to extract calendar events. The raw text of your messages is not stored — only the structured data we extract (event titles, dates, times, locations, attendees) is saved to your family's account.

We store your name, email address, and mobile phone number to create your account and send you SMS notifications.

How your data is protected

Your family's data is encrypted at rest. Each family's data is fully isolated — our systems are designed so that one family's information cannot be accessed by another.

Hearth uses Anthropic (Claude AI) to read and interpret the content you forward. Anthropic acts as a data subprocessor under our agreement with them. We do not use your data to train AI models.

Who can see your data

Hearth staff do not read your family's data except to resolve a reported technical issue, and only with your knowledge. Your data is never sold or shared with third parties for advertising.

Data retention

Raw email and SMS content is discarded immediately after event extraction. Structured calendar data (events, reminders, family context) is retained until you delete your account. You can request deletion at any time by emailing support@myhearth.family.

SMS notifications

By signing up, you agree to receive SMS notifications from Hearth. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time.
